The Climate Careers Commitment aims to meet two needs: 

1. Large organizations, particularly private sector companies, need ways to attract the best and the brightest to work for them.
2. Workers, particularly emerging professionals, want to work for organizations that are show progressive values.

Individuals, particularly young people, are trying harder than ever to help their leaders. Young people see the need to move more aggressively, but too often organizations do not understand how climate change action can benefit them.

The Climate Careers Commitment is a way for organizations to see how many people want their organizations to take progressive climate action.

The Commitment emphasizes that taking action will benefit organizations ability to attract and hire the best; while for individuals it is a way to commit to making change in a crucial way, at the place where they spend most of their time: their job.
